The Systems Engineer under limited supervision, works on projects and systems related to maintaining and/or enhancing services for the enterprise and clinical remote sites in a primarily Microsoft environment. Engages with vendors to deploy best practices and design a robust, scalable, and highly available infrastructure for business and development to build upon. Supports application run on the internal infrastructure. Performs operational support such as verify complete backups, deploy changes, monitor systems and processes for reliability and uptime, and alert and escalate issues as needed.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Collaborates with team members to identify the characteristics and specifications required for a new physical or virtual system; creates the system to those specifications, configuring operating system and networking settings for use as appropriate
Works with vendors to deploy new systems and/or migrates old systems to new systems.
Supports problem and issue identification and resolution with Help Desk and other colleagues
Performs ordinary administrative tasks such as patch deployment, anti-virus package management, backup or restore operations, networking or other configuration changes as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Information technology or Science (i.e: Biology, Physics, etc.), preferred.
2+years’ experience in Systems Administration.
Significant experience with server and workstation builds in a standards-focused environment.
Experience with Microsoft patch deployment.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, and security issues.Experience with networking fundamentals, including DHCP, DNS, and diagnostic tools for same
Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures.
10% Travel may be required.
Preferred:
Microsoft or other vendor-related certifications (e.g. Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or Endpoint Administrator Associate).
Google Certified Associate Cloud Engineer.
Experience with Google Workspace productivity tools
Experience with mapped drives and SharePoint
Experience with network printing, and device driver troubleshooting
