Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Systems Administrator , in the Herndon, VA area. At ManTech, you will help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement.
As a Systems Administrator at ManTech, you will maintain data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. You will be responsible for system security and data integrity and will be responsible for assigning passwords. You will monitor use of resources, back up files as required, and respond to management requests for information.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
Management of IT system infrastructure.
Providing day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem solving.
Providing problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
Configuration and management of Windows operating systems and installing/loading operating system software.
Configuration and management of Linux operating systems and installing/loading operating system software.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 4 years of relevant experience
At least two (2) years of experience in a Microsoft Windows Environment.
At least one (1) year of experience in a Linux Environment.
At least one (1) year of experience in a Virtualized Environment.
Implementing, troubleshooting IT systems.
Performing daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
Providing Tier 1 / Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
Optimizing system operations and resource utilization and performing system capacity analysis and planning.
Implementing operating systems enhancements improving reliability and performance.
Providing detailed analysis and feedback to customers.
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in PKI integration and creation of server certificates.
Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Office, Active Directory, WSUS Sever)
Knowledgeable in system monitoring applications (such as Nagios, Prometheus, Loki and more.)
Knowledgeable in Security compliance/infrastructure and reporting (i.e. DNS, TLS, ACAS, Security Onion, Nessus)

The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.For all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
