Title:
System Safety Engineer
KBR is seeking a System Safety Engineer to support the United States Space Force's (USSF) Satellite Control Network (SCN). The SCN provides highly reliable and secure data transfer, telemetry, tracking, command, control, and communications (TT&C3) for more than 195 Department of Defense (DoD), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), civil, and allied satellites.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs and develops safety protocols and policies to ensure smooth operations against unforeseen circumstances.
Conducting Safety Analyses and documenting results (Preliminary Hazards List/Analysis, System Hazard Analysis, Functional Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Safety Assessment Report)Documenting hazards and maintain Hazard Tracking System
Supporting Configuration Review Boards
Participating in System Safety Working Groups and Technical Interchange Meetings
Developing Technical Data Packages and Presentations for Safety Board Reviews
Representing System Safety Engineering and presenting results of safety analyses at formal program design reviews
Documenting and reporting residual risk
Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and 6 years technical experience as a System Safety Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer or equivalent, on a major weapon/combat system or a complex hardware/software development program.
Experience and familiarity with Safety Engineering and Safety Design concepts
Current/capable of obtaining a DoD secret security clearance
US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
8 years technical experience as a System Safety Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Engineer or equivalent, on a major weapon/combat system or a complex hardware/software development program.
Experience with the Satellite Control Network (SCN)
Basic Compensation:
Salary Range: 95,000 – 117,000
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
