Description
Enterprise Engineering is looking for a senior system development engineer to help us migrate from third-party legacy workplace productivity and collaboration applications to an industry leading, integrated cloud productivity suite. Your team will own configuration and optimization of applications within the suite, integrations with other products in the technical ecosystem and ensure operational excellence of the platform ongoing.
You will join a strong team of engineers across Enterprise Engineering focused on delivering a workplace productivity and collaboration platform that delights Amazon employees and enables them to work more effectively every day.
This role offers individuals excellent visibility across the entire Enterprise Engineering organization. You will apply your advanced knowledge of the workplace productivity platform and best practices as you work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, security engineers, service owners, business leaders, and program and product managers working together to deliver our large-scale migration from on-premises legacy solutions to a secure, scalable and sustainable cloud platform.
This role requires expert level experience with Microsoft 365 productivity tool architecture, administration and best practice recommendations combined with experience in security, legal and regulatory/compliance controls required for the M365 environment.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby experience
4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
10+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
5+ years experience designing, configuring and deploying Microsoft 365 productivity tools, including system administration, to enable seamless integration into a global enterprise of 2K+ employees
Ability to effectively translate technical specifications, errors, and business logic through written and verbal communications to both technical and non-technical customers
Familiarity with application monitoring tools, reviewing log files
Ability to participate in off hours emergency support rotation for critical applications
PowerShell scripting expertise within M365 / Teams / SharePoint environment
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of development/programming/scripting language (Python/Java/Bash/Perl) experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience taking a leading role in building complex software or computing infrastructure that has been successfully delivered to customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
