Hiring Range: $15.37 - $16.51 per hour

　　Work Schedule: Shifts vary, must be able to work a variety of shiftsincluding early mornings, weekends, midday, and evening shifts.

　　NATURE OF WORK

　　As a member of the Parks, Recreation & Culture Division, individuals inthis position are responsible for instructing, supervising and testingchildren and adults in Windsor's learn-to-swim lesson programs. Thisposition also helps organize and control classes under the direction of LeadGuard, Managers, and the Recreation Coordinator - Aquatics.

　　Part-time Swim Lesson Instructors may work at both the indoor or outdoor pool.The outdoor pool may be open from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

　　Individuals in this position are required to perform work in a mannerconsistent with and exemplary of the Town's PRIDE philosophies and theTown's Equal Opportunity Employment policy.

　　Individuals may work under the direct supervision/leadership of the LeadGuard, Pool Manager, and/or the Recreation Coordinator - Aquatics tocarry out assigned duties, functions, roles, and projects in bothroutine and complex circumstances.

　　No supervisory responsibilities or control exercised.

　　Enhance Windsor's Parks, Recreation & Culture image by ensuring qualityvisits for guests by instructing, testing and evaluating participants in thelearn-to-swim program.Ensure the safety of all participants in their swimming classes by safe andproper usage of equipment.Inspects classroom/program environment and equipment to ensure safety.Submit class lesson plans, block plans and other materials to be properlyprepared to teach classes.Write and pass out first day lesson cards to parents.Write end of session report cards for all participants, either giving apassing or non-passing grade; provide feedback to participants.Schedules, Instructs, tests and evaluates participants in swimming lessons.Sets personal appointments with clients according to their availability.Communicates effectively with parents.Performs regular safety inspections of pools and equipment to reduce hazardsand to provide maximum safety to the patrons.Arrives to work promptly to be ready to teach at the start of each class.Disseminate and promote Parks, Recreation & Culture program informationand educate users of potential opportunities and services available.Ensures safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.Performs related work as required and assigned.OTHER DUTIES

　　Must be at least 16 years of age.Previous experience in lifeguarding and/or teaching swim lessonspreferred, but not required.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

　　Current CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.Must be able to complete the Town of Windsor's Swim Lesson Training classand one complete session of co-teaching with a current instruct r.Current Water Safety Instructor (American Red Cross) certification may beused as a supplement certification. Each WSI will be asked to complete theTown of Windsor's Swim Lesson training and complete one session ofco-teaching.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
