Objective

Essential Functions
Instructional Activities :
· Deliver academic activities, including lectures and laboratory sessions in the following courses/disciplines:
ANPH506: Anatomy I
ANPH503: Anatomy II
BIOL303: Biomedical Anatomy
System-based curriculum courses
Supplemental teaching
· In addition to teaching in the core courses for the DVM program, faculty may be required to support departmental teaching in the graduate program and the pre-veterinary program as well as the Integrated Team Instruction delivery of the DVM program – small groups-based curriculum delivery.
· Deliver lectures in the following courses/disciplines:
LAMS541: Professional Development-1
LAMS542: Professional Development-2
LAMS543: Professional Development-3
Research and Scholarly Activities:
Actively engage in a research topic in a relevant area
Support student research and learning through supervision and mentoring of selected students.
Contribute to curriculum review and innovation.
Practice continuous quality improvement of the courses and content delivered by the department.
Active participation in scientific/educational conferences and Continued Education in Veterinary Clinical Anatomy.
Service
· Participate in the following University activities:
Faculty Senate
Departmental Reviews (as required)
Faculty Meetings (as required)
Special Committee Assignments (as assigned by the Dean)
Administrative roles, as assigned by the Chair of the Department and/or the Dean
Outreach efforts in the local community
Contribute to the academic advisory system for all students enrolled in the DVM program.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or an equivalent degree in Health-Related Professions.
Desirable Qualities
Experience supporting veterinary anatomy teaching in AVMA/RCVS accredited Veterinary Schools.
Documented animal cadaver dissection experience in veterinary anatomy, including an excellent image portfolio of prospected specimens.
Certification or training in veterinary laboratory safety and compliance.
Familiarity with health and safety-specific standard operating procedures in veterinary anatomy laboratories following AVMA/RCVS standards.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to creating a safe learning environment for DVM and pre-veterinary students.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
This is a full time position in the Caribbean island of Grenada.
Candidates must be fully vaccinated with a WHO approved vaccine, and be willing to show proof of vaccination to be considered for employment.
