　　Job Summary:

　　VUMC TempForce has opportunities for Surgical Technicians in Labor & Delivery department. L&D cases include C-Sections/hysterectomy, Bilateral Tubal Ligations, D&C’s, D&E’s Cerclages, and I&D’s. In this role you will attend and assist with Vaginal deliveries. Assist with supplies, instruments, or equipment the providers may need during a delivery. Set up the delivery table before the delivery. Assist with the clean-up after a vaginal delivery. You will also Stock supplies carts in the OR and Delivery rooms. Help transport patients to 4E and from ED. This is a 13-week assignment with additional premium pay.

　　• Facilitates patient care, by assisting the surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures.

　　• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and as a scrub tech.

　　• Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to apply the Principles of Asepsis in creating and maintaining the sterile field.

　　• Performs sharp, sponge and instrument counts according to policy.
