Summary:
Ensures the safe, reliable and efficient operation of all carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, plumbing, medical air, gas and vacuum, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and control systems that serve the MHMC complex. Ensures an appropriate environment of care. Supervises a multi-disciplined skilled trades’ staff and coordinates the workflow, administrative and analytical functions within this area of Facilities Management. Manages building systems and equipment in accordance with regulatory standards and appropriate industry practices; maintains required documentation
Qualifications:
Required:High School graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam.Four years of relevant experience maintaining building systems and equipment.Technical training on most of the following: carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, painting, medical air, gas and vacuum, HVAC, steam, refrigeration, and control systems.Able to read blue printsUnderstanding of energy management principlesAbility to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong customer service skillsSkilled in the use of computer basics: e-mail, word processing, spreadsheetsMust be able to perform on-site inspections and observations of all facilities related areas
Preferred:Bachelor’s degree in a related field.Two or more years of supervisory experience.Journeyman status in an applicable trade or 4 years equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of TJC, CMMS, OSHA, ADA, OBCEight years of experience3rd Class Stationary Engineers LicenseApplicable State of Ohio Contractors License
