Job Summary
The Oracle IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant’s role is to work with SHI’s customers to assist them in understanding their Software and Hardware Environment. The ITAM Consultant will join the ITAM team and will utilize SHI’s best practice procedures, tools, and people to assist our customers in controlling their software and hardware costs, as well as the associated legal and financial risks. The position reports to the ITAM Oracle Practice Manager.
The ITAM Consultant will be office based in Bucharest (Romania). It is expected that this role will require occasional travel both nationally and internationally (30%).

Responsibilities
Have excellent ITAM knowledge and work as part of a team.
Participates in customer communications as well as work being produced across the entire life cycle of an ITAM project. This includes producing as well as presenting intermediate and results and assuring projects are conducted and closed to the satisfaction of all parties.
Executes all ITAM Oracle Consultant tasks according to the project plans of all assigned customer engagements.
Coordinates with service delivery teams to communicate project status and ensure project milestones are being met.
Operates in line with the SHI core values, processes and procedures.
Adheres and works to the internal process standards as defined and updated by management.
Assist Project Managers in managing project timelines and customer expectations.
Stay up to date on new product technology offerings, manufacturer specific training and certification/accreditations.
The candidate will be required to take on-going ITAM accreditations and certifications as well as attend partner training.
Learn and follow the ITAM standards to ensure all ITAM projects are conducted professionally, ethically, and in a manner consistent with SHI quality standards.
Must keep all customer information confidential.
Participate and lead peer reviews to oversee the ITAM Analyst, as well as secondary review to the ITAM Administrator activities, while ensuring the process and quality standards are maintained.
Quality check analysis ofcustomers’ contract and purchase information by the ITAM Analyst and/or ITAM Administrator to maintain an accurate and complete summary of licenses.
Participates and leads peer reviews to oversee license analyst activities while ensuring the process and quality standards are maintained.
Oversee the correct application of license rules to hardware and software inventory data to ensure it accurately reflects contractual entitlement.
Researches and understands Product Use Rights, license allowances, and contractual entitlements for a minimum of two Tier-1 software manufacturers (with a specialty in Oracle).
Prepare and present ITAM deliverables to customers.
Compare customers’ contractual entitlements against their utilization to assess gaps and surpluses in licensing, as well as offer consulting services as to the best practices to optimize their position to avoid unnecessary costs.
Offer consulting services as to the areas of convergence between software and hardware asset management, as well as best practices in how to concurrently manage both.
Advises customers as to the most cost-effective infrastructure configurations to deploy their software on, comparing both on-site datacenters and different types of cloud platforms.
Communicate accurate and relevant conclusions to customers across the entire life cycle of an ITAM project. Including producing and presenting analytical results and assuring projects get closed to the satisfaction of all parties.
Assists the ITAM Systems Technicians and Engineers in the collection, cleanse/normalization, and management of software discovery and inventory information to ensure all licensing relevant data points are being collected.
Prepares and presents ITAM deliverables to customers.
Participates in customer communications across the entire life cycle of an ITAM project; this includes presenting intermediate and results and assuring projects are conducted and closed to the satisfaction of all parties.
Participates alongside with ITAM Solutions Consultants in pre-sales activities to advise customers and inform of SHI’s ITAM capabilities.
Attend and support SHI events and vendor shows
Design specialist blog articles, webinars, industry events presentations
Create and document specifications that will improve existing services, as well as create new ones.
Participates into the user acceptance testing of internal ITAM systems to help enhance internal ITAM platforms.
Other activities, as defined by ITAM management to successfully deliver ITAM consulting activities to customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required
Minimum of 3 years of experience within the IT Asset Management field.
Minimum of 3 years experience with Oracle Licensing

If mandatory accreditations are not currently held, they will have to self-study and pass within a brief period of starting the role.
