HORIZONS Conference Center is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Floral Design and Décor Manager looking for an exciting career with growth potential. Required Qualifications
Currently working in the floral industry with at least five years of floral design experience.Two-plus years of floral supervisory and/or management experience.Working knowledge of floral design and identification, inventory control, pricing and floral event planning.Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.Effective organization and planning skills.Ability to identify new trends and create bold, innovative designs.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Possess ability to handle high levels of stress and a large volume of clients.Availability requirements include, but are not limited to, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.Ability to stand for long periods of time; walk; frequent use of hands.Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the overall operation and profitability of the floral and décor department.
Contact new wedding clients offering HORIZONS floral and design services.
Meet with clients to discuss floral and design needs.
Create proposals based on client specifications.
Prepare and present floral and design proposals to client.
Create floral designs for events to client specification.
Efficiently order flowers and supplies from wholesalers and suppliers.
Receive incoming flowers and foliage upon delivery, verify accuracy of invoice, then forward invoices daily to HORIZONS Accountant.
Manage floral and décor inventory to reduce waste and operate in an efficient manner.
Place product in appropriate storage area.
Schedule, supervise, train and assign duties to part-time and seasonal personnel.
Plan daily operations and monitor production processes with an eye on profitability.
Clean, process and cut flowers appropriately.
Act as lead designer when producing physical designs to client specifications.
