About the Position: You will serve as Chief of a Weapon System Branch in a Product Support Integration Directorate (PSID) with supervisory and management responsibilities for assigned personnel. This is a temporary position of one year and MAY NOT be made permanent. It can be extended for up to five years in one year increments. Responsibilities Supervise the activities of multifunctional teams which may include Equipment Specialists, Inventory Management Specialists, Supply Management Specialists, Technical Writers, Logistics Management Specialists and other specialists. Analyze problems and identify new solutions. Coordinate logistics mission accomplishment within the community, higher headquarters, and other relevant organizations. Participate in the development of program requirements for assigned systems. Develop and implement a comprehensive product support strategy for the weapon system. Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned programs/weapon systems and materiel, assuring timely support of field and higher echelon customers. Utilize sound judgment in decision making process in difficult, negative, or unexpected situations. Assign work to subordinates, provide technical oversight, develop performance plans/rates employees, interview candidates/recommend hiring/promotion, and take disciplinary measures. Identify developmental and training needs of employees and provide/arrange for development/training. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.
