Summary You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer in the Navy Primary Standards Laboratory FST, Metrology Engineering Branch of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will serve as the Senior Metrology Engineer Team Leader for the FRCSW METCAL Team and will coordinate, review and approve all metrology related engineering products and services. You will Identify, plan, evaluate, and prescribe corrective action for metrology deficiencies/incidents. You will plan, coordinate, and/or conducts and solves difficult metrology engineering issues requiring substantial analysis and evaluation of causes, effects, and alternatives. You will coach/mentor personnel in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving calibration and metrology methods and techniques, provides advice on work methods, practices and procedures. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Directs and manages assigned programs to ensure metrology and calibration products and services are delivered on schedule, within budgeted cost, and performed according to documented technical requirements; 2) Plans, coordinates, and/or conducts and solves specific, difficult metrology engineering issues requiring substantial analysis and evaluation of causes, effects, and alternatives; 3) Directs studies to identify and evaluate alternative technical approaches to resolve issues and is the final authority on selection among alternate technical approaches; 4) Identify, satisfy, and justify staffing requirements within the METCAL Branch; 5) Identifies resources (e.g., computer, tooling, measurement equipment) and personnel training to enable division personnel to perform their jobs in the most effective manner possible.
