JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the planning, direction, coordination and control of activities concerned with the Laboratory services. Communicates expectations of the organization to employees. Provides supervision of section functions ensuring accuracy of results. Develops procedural protocols, and trains other lab personnel in procedures and the use of instrumentation. Participates in PI activities and ensures hospital meets Joint Commission, State of Tennessee, and Federal government standards. Supervises daily staff activities for assigned area or function. Reports directly to Lab Director and supports all aspects of Lab operations. Supervises the Lab if the Director is not readily available. Helps other departments as assigned or need on a prn basis.
