  Job Summary

  The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations supervises a team of Inbound/Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations (Outbound) or (receiving, replenishment, put away and returns forInbound)are safe, efficient, and of high quality. With responsibility for a day or night shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health’s customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.

  ResponsibilitiesDirect and manage a team of 15- warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of products and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards including cycle times, picks per hour, shortages and overages, among othersMonitor site productivity standards and hold associates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly metrics; provide timely feedback and initiate corrective action process when neededAdhere to budgetary guidelines, and work to meet Distribution Center objectives and operational goals while maintaining standards pertaining to quality and inventoryResponsible for continuous improvement projects and initiatives (ex. Gemba walks, Kaizen workshops, takt boards, etc)Perform daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient mannerCoordinate maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairsActive engagement in employee development, which includes training, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisalsMajority of work day is spent on the floor while balancing administrative dutiesCollaborate with cross functional teams at all levels within the organization, specifically within HR groups on a daily basisInterview and make hiring decisions for lead and associate level rolesMaintain general responsibility for disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; ensure a productive work climate in the warehouse operationPrepare ad hoc reports, as necessary using ExcelResponsible for accurate timekeeping, attendance/PTO records and ensure scheduling is maintainedHold staff accountable for conducting work in a safe manner while enforcing Cardinal Health compliance and regulations concerning OSHA, DEA, FDA, State and local authoritiesAssist with EHS audits, conduct Job Safety Observations (JSO), properly record and manage safety incidents, monitor employee safety behaviors/practices and provide feedbackAssist with QRA audits and QRA non-conformance issues to properly address, conduct housekeeping observations and ensure employees complete required QRA training and documentationQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus2-3 years related experience preferredPrior experience with continuous improvement projects and initiativesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience leading a teamStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office ExcelExperience working within ERP’s preferredWhat is expected of you and others at this levelCoordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical or production staff in an assigned areaSets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisorsApplies expertise to solve standard and non-standard problems within own areaRole models Cardinal Health's high ethical standards and code of conductProvides direction in discussing and creating development plansProvides input into succession planning process for own work areaAligns individual goals for self and others with work area/functional goalsCandidates who are back-to-work, people with disabilities, without a college degree, and Veterans are encouraged to apply.
