We are seeking a Quality Supervisor to join our team in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will support Missile Solutions value stream programs, in production and development. The manufacturing facility produces state of the art products to support the war fighter, and is a key supplier within the value chain for downstream final assembly operations.
The Quality Supervisor will report to the Sr. Manager of Quality as part of the Quality Organization. The Quality Supervisor develops coaches and directs inspectors and quality engineers, including hiring, training, assessing performance, and removing barriers to execution. The Supervisor allocates resources, assigns work, and establishes an effective business rhythm. The Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of quality, communicates quality requirements, addresses concerns and expectations, and ensures financial responsibilities are met. The successful candidate will identify and implement quality requirements, maintain a metrics program, actively address adverse trends, and ensure product acceptance and delivery. The supervisor will also be accountable for the development of their team, with a focus on business, technical and soft skills that are required to grow and develop within the AR culture. The Supervisor, Quality, will be the focal point for all Quality related matters pertaining to the contract/program(s) assigned. This position will oversee a team of 7-15 personnel.
Essential Functions:
Leading or participating in interpreting manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to validate as needed the approval or rejection of units. Supervisors will assure that support documentation and reviews performance data are properly maintained.
Leading or participating in validating that in-process and finished products meet company standards. Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection. Validates products and documentation for compliance to all applicable requirements and prepares items for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery.
Leading or participating in identifying, assigning, and monitoring quality requirements for parts and assemblies procured from Vendors/Suppliers and manufactured on assigned programs.
Leading or participating in monitoring performance of assigned programs, and facilitating corrective and preventative actions in order to accomplish improvement when required.
Leading or participating in coordinating corrective and preventative actions with customer representatives and company management.
Leading or participating in conducting special investigations as required resulting in a well written report(s) suitable for submission to Senior Management. Perform briefings/presentations of results as required.
Leading or participating in presenting Quality related data, investigation summaries, trends, and significant issues at various compliance board meetings as required.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline and at least five (5) years of related experience in Quality/Manufacturing (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Proficiency working in a digital environment including Oracle and Microsoft
Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
Ability to work in a collaborative and team based environment
Ability to lead teams directly and/or indirectly in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Technical knowledge of quality engineering and manufacturing processes
Technical knowledge of quality engineering tools and quality systems
Technical knowledge/ability to learn and apply requirements to maintain certification (AS9100)
Experience and/or ability to learn and apply the tools of Lean within a manufacturing environment
Experience in the Aerospace industry including man-rated space program experience is preferred.
Experience in manufacturing, with a focus on Automotive, Medical Device, or similar industries with a focus on high production volumes, extensive quality requirements and above normal regulatory requirements, to ensure customer requirements are met is desirable
Certifications and/or the ability to gain certifications to support role, in areas such as Lean, Six Sigma, Project Management, and AS9100
