  Description

  Location: Leprino Building, Anschutz Campus, Aurora, CO

  Department: Pharmacy Atrium

  FTE: Full time, 1.0 FTE, 80 hours/pay period (2 weeks), This position is on-site five days per week.

  Shift: Days

  Pay: $58.11 - $87.17 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

  Requirements:

  Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.

  State licensure as a Pharmacist.

  2 years of post-graduate experience.

  Preferences:

  Ambulatory or outpatient specialty pharmacy experience.

  Prior experience in a leadership or management role.

  Summary:

  Supervises daily staff activities for specialty pharmacy operations. This position reports to the Director of Outpatient Specialty Pharmacy and is responsible for supporting outpatient pharmacy operations and developing Pharmacists working within our Specialty Pharmacy Authorization Center.

  Responsibilities:

  Operational:

  Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.

  Collaborates across specialty and outpatient pharmacies to recommend and implement operational changes and enhancements to improve the patient experience

  Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.

  Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

  Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

  Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

  Clinical:

  Serve as a resource for clinical questions posed by staff

  Educate/coach staff appropriately when errors are discovered

  Appeal prior authorization denials using clinical evidence

  Suggest formulary medication substitutions to providers when prior authorization is unsuccessful

  Use Collaborative Drug Therapy Management protocol when appropriate for therapeutic substitutions

  Provide other related services to the clinics as requested by providers and staff

  Submit prior authorization requests if necessary
