　　As a Supervisor of Patient Care you will ensurenursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. In addition, you will be responsible for the following:

　　Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.Ensures the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.Conduct crucial conversations to facilitate conflict resolution, performance improvement, and motivate others to maintain a culture of excellent.Provide the necessary resources and guidance to support evidence-based practice with a focus on positive patient outcomes, and patient and employee satisfaction.Create schedules to ensure proper staffing, assist with the onboarding process and orientation of new hires, conduct unit huddles, and ensure compliance with standards, policies, and regulatory protocols. Serve as a mentor and leader by engaging others in innovation, providing education and training, and assisting with patient care. Collaborate with the entire team including leadership and other departments through a systems approach to ensure safety and quality are at the forefront of care delivery. This is a Full-Time salaried position with a night schedule that includes weekends and holidays. This position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

　　Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:* *

　　· Two years applicable clinical experience, one of which in a leadership role.

　　· Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.

　　· Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.

　　· Graduate of an accredited program.

　　Required Certification/Registration: **

　　· Maintains current California RN license.

　　· Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider

　　Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:* *

　　· BSN preferred.

　　· Prior experience working with surgical population preferred.
