The Leader of Renewable Energy Procurement is responsible for the global portfolio of renewable energy initiatives for Danaher from end to end, including, but not limited to, direct and virtual power purchase agreements (VPPAs), utility green tariffs, and Renewable energy credits (RECs).
This role requires significant subject matter expertise, market knowledge, business analytics, and strong program management experience. This position will advise Danaher leadership on the current renewable energy market, management strategies to reduce Danaher’s global carbon footprint, save cost, manage tax and other financial consequences and optimize GHG reduction across our portfolio.
This position is part of the EHS & Environmental Sustainability department and will be matrixed to the Indirect Procurement department. It will be a remote role within the US.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Serve as program manager for developing Danaher’s renewable energy portfolio strategy, including assessing business requirements, generation and evaluation of strategic options, development of business cases for selected options, and reporting out of actual renewable energy and carbon offsets against Danaher and OpCo targets.
Provide recommendations on the execution of purchase agreements, VPPAs, and other instruments based on ROIC, tax consequences, market intelligence, and Danaher requirements on a global basis.
Use knowledge of stakeholder needs, market trends and risks to identify and tailor renewable energy procurement activities to positively impact stakeholder relationships, improve the quality of decisions, and reduce risk to the Company.
Apply in-depth Energy and Utility-specific knowledge to propose recommendations to enhance existing and/or introduce new renewable energy procurement processes or service capabilities that align with and support our corporate energy and sustainability goals.
Manage complex agreements such as VPPAs and energy service agreements and advise on above-site level renewable energy supply agreements to improve value and reduce risks to our Company.
The essential requirements of the job include:
BS degree in Finance, Engineering, Science, or related degree with 7+ years of procurement and similar experiences, including 3+ years of renewable energy procurement experience.
Demonstrated experience working and collaborating in a cross-functional matrixed environment, influencing and leading colleagues, business partners, stakeholders, and leadership.
Ability to travel up to 25%, internationally
Program leadership experience
Demonstrated experience managing data in various electronic systems, helping design or improve data analytics, and other enterprise data management systems and tools
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Indirect Procurement / Global Category Management, including global experience in Energy & Utility operations and with renewable energy (VPPA and other) contracting.
Negotiate and contract management, with knowledge of regulations pertaining to energy and utilities, as well as an understanding of GHG accounting practices.

The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is 97-145K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
