Position Summary:
This position is assigned to the Division of Health Professions andreports to the Dean of Health Professions. The laboratory supervisorsupervises, coordinates, and monitors operational activities in numerousdisciplines within the health professions division. In this role, onewould collaborate directly with faculty and department heads tocoordinate and implement student laboratory activities. The laboratorysupervisor will purchase and disburse college resources betweendisciplines and approve and reconcile purchases. This position wouldinterpret policies and oversee the development and implementation oflaboratory procedures and protocols.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may includeworking evenings and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily lab operations and manage workflow. Create projectschedules and monitor employee productivity. Develop, implement, andevaluate goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Evaluateoperations and activities for effectivenessSupervise health professions lab staff and prepare areas andclassrooms to ensure proper safety measures are met and maintained.Resolve conflict between lab staff and instructors concerning labschedules, lab preparation, and lab supply qualityTrain, guide, and support employees. Set goals with employees,identify professional development needs, and coordinate andcross-train employees. Evaluate employee performance and providefeedbackPlan, select coordinate, and recommend work procedures, facilitychanges, and equipment needs, including researching new products andtechnology, communicating with outside vendors, and recommendingpurchasesPurchase equipment and materials for health professions labactivities, approve and reconcile purchases, and work withdiscipline leadership to meet budget goalsResearch, develop, implement, and manage all aspects of safetytraining for staff and students. Ensure the safety of equipment andcollege policy and local, state, and federal laws are followed.Develop policies and advise faculty and staff on safe usage andhandling of materialsParticipate in communication with faculty, dean, and laboratoryspecialists to ensure student success and safety measures are met inthe laboratory settingPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as assigned ordirected by the supervisorJob Requirements:
A bachelor\'s degree in a closely related field of study andThree to five years of related experience andOne to three years of supervisory experienceor
An equivalent combination of certification, education, andexperience sufficient to successfully perform the essential dutiesof the job, such as those listed abovePreferred:
