Knowledge / Experience You Have:
Desired knowledge of the basics of the construction business - industry trends, current practices, self-perform and common processes as it pertains to risk, safety, accounting, and operationsDegree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural or a related experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience as a lead superintendent for commercial interiors projectsCurrent Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certification or achievement of STSC within six months of hire, maintenance of active certification statusWorking knowledge of all crafts (ability to read and understand specifications for all trades) and prior experience as foreman in at least one trade. Experience as project engineer plus.Knowledge of OSHA laws, job scheduling, planning, expediting, cost control, and applicable building codesVersed in Microsoft Suite; proficiency with P6 Scheduling software is a plusSpecific local market knowledge and subcontractor relations in the New York City and/or Central/Northern New Jersey regions
Key Responsibilities in the Role:
Maintain rational and objective demeanor when faced with stressful and emotional situationsCreate cohesive, positive, and mutually supportive culture with teamsDevelop strong relationships with business partners and solicits leads on new potential workWork with self-perform crews to ensure productivity is maximizedAssist with maintenance and updating of project schedules and take ownership of project schedule using P6 softwarePrepare, review, and approve all necessary field documentation and reports including, but not limited to, time sheets, T& M tickets, work orders, invoices, daily reports, inspection reports, permit applications, etc.Manage all project inspections, testing, and permits ensuring project and subcontractors are appropriately preparedAchieve successful results through others while understanding workload and capability limitationsMonitor and actively manage day-to-day project labor productivity in the field as well as labor and material budgetsEffectively manage and build partnerships with subcontractors through the project ensuring compliance with subcontractor requirements ( schedule, manpower, scope, contingencies, quality, etc. )Ensure all client issues and concerns are effectively managed and resolved in a timely manner maximizing client satisfaction where possibleEncourage positive team dynamics, reduces risk, and organizes the efforts of the entire project teamWork with project pursuit teams and preconstruction resources to secure new projects

For positions located in New York, NY the offered rate of compensation will be based on an individual's education, technical qualifications, and work experience. Desired annual salary range for this position is $105k - $160k annualized.
