JOB REQUIREMENTS: Summary Veit has an immediate opening for aDemolition/Blaster Superintendent. The Demolition/Blaster Superintendentmanages the daily site activities by ensuring the project is constructedin accordance with safety, design, budget, and schedule. TheDemolition/Blaster Superintendent directly manages each project site\'slead personnel and staff. A DAY IN THE LIFE AT VEIT Daily communicationwith General Superintendents regarding job-specific needs, includingworkforce and equipment requirements. Daily contact with job site crewsto ensure project time schedule and workforce needs are being met.Schedules subcontractors to complete work as needed. Monitorssubcontractor work to ensure work is complete per subcontractoragreement. Maintains a safe working environment by identifying workplacehazards and taking corrective action when necessary. Ensures employeeshave up-to-date information on safety procedures and policies. Conductsdaily Job Hazard Awareness meetings, daily stretching, and weeklyToolbox topics. Complete daily record keeping, including daily logs,equipment schedules, material schedules, and timecards. Manages fieldpersonnel in a fair and equitable manner in accordance with Veitpolicies, and procedures, as well as compliance with local and federallaws. Addresses staff performance issues as they occur. Participates inpre-construction meetings to discuss project start-up and projectplanning. Prepares and participates in regular job site meetingsthroughout the project lifecycle. Provides timely and accuratedocumentation for reporting safety issues, equipment damage, andworkplace injuries, according to Veit policies and procedures. Ensuresall work follows specified quality standards. Inspects field work forquality compliance, materials for quality compliance, and reviewsassembly of manufacturer\'s literature and drawings before work begins.Responds to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies,or business community members. Regular participation in training forconstruction methods and safety. Supports training opportunities forstaff. WHAT YOU\'LL NEED Five to ten years\' experience as a BlastingSuperintendent and/or Foreman overseeing Blasting Demolition projects.Experience performing general demolition blasting projects. Projectsinclude, but are not limited to, steel bridges, smokestacks, silos,buildings, and concrete structures. Federal Blasting License (Any state)Ability to perform work at elevated surfaces. Ability to read, analyzeand interpret policies, reports, plans, specifications, and legaldocuments. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel spreadsheets,iPad and iPhone.
