DescriptionPosition SummaryThe NFA works under the supervision of the attending physician to assess manage and evaluate the surgical patient during the perioperative period. The RNFA provides technical 1st and 2nd assistance for surgical procedures.Essential FunctionsApplies the nursing process in all facets of the nurse first assistant role.Displays knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the human body while delivering safe patient care.Establishes and maintains a safe perioperative procedural environment.Offers education development opportunities to residents, nursing staff, students and any other appropriate persons in the specific surgery and patient management.Utilizes ongoing data collection perioperative, procedural, and follow-up information to aid in research care studies that promote effectiveness and quality of patient care.Required For All JobsPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
