Summer Intern, Service Supply Chain Distribution & Logistics

　　In addition to a project that will provide maximum experience and exposure in your desired field, the Hologic College Relations team provides opportunities to learn more about the company, network with leadership, and develop the skills needed to succeed in your future career.

　　The Service Supply Chain Distribution and Logistics team manages our 3PL relationship where over 75% of our service spare parts ship from and to US service customers. The team optimizes a network of warehouses stocked with spare service parts to best service Hologic's customers and instrument install base.

　　The team is responsible for balancing and controlling inventory between our central supply warehouses, forward-stocking locations, and field trunk stock inventory. The service distribution and logistics team works closely with 3rd party carriers and the spares management team to improve on-time in full delivery of spare parts to customers. The team partners closely with field service to maintain optimal and accurate inventory levels of spares that support Hologic's instrument install base.

　　Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

　　Learn about our current 3PL network, freight usage, and spending in the US and how that fits into our service delivery commitments.

　　Review Service Supply Chain freight spending in the US and understand contributing factors.

　　Review distribution spend, network alignment, and field inventory approach in the US.

　　Finding freight reduction opportunities and suggesting potential network changes that reduce costs. The goal will be to deliver over $150k in freight savings by aligning ship methods with service call priority.

　　Review the overall network strategy and suggest potential changes for a combination of storage spend and freight savings.

　　Work cross-functionally with service supply chain and finance.

　　We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

　　Able to work full-time over the summer months (May-August)

　　Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship

　　Rising Junior, Rising Senior

　　Majoring in Supply Chain Management or Logistics preferred

　　Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0

　　Strong written and verbal communication skills

　　Experience or exposure to working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

　　Ability to work onsite at our Marlborough, MA or San Diego, CA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided.

　　The hourly pay range for this role is $19 - $25 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
