　　Field and Safety Instruments (FSI), a business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is the leader in field based scientific instrumentation and radiation detection and measuring equipment. Our products are used by the military, law enforcement, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and industrial clients in metal fabrication, mining exploration and consumer product safety. The business is currently recruiting for a Summer Intern, Junior Software Engineer.

　　Responsibilities:

　　• Assist in design and development of supporting GUI desktop & web applications and tools for embedded devices and desktop instruments!

　　• Develop software based on object oriented programming (OOP) techniques

　　• Participate in code, design and test plan reviews.

　　• Work with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

　　• Ability to collaborate in a team atmosphere. Minimum Qualifications:

　　• Experience developing on Windows and/or Linux platforms.

　　• Experience with one more of the following object oriented languages: C#, C++, Java or Python

　　• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

　　• Rising junior or senior candidate majoring in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering with a passion to write software and work on cutting-edge projects.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　• SQL, schema and db experience

　　• Experience/exposure to: REST, XML and JSON

　　• Tools Experience: Jira, Git, GitLab, Confluence
