Clinical Scientific Writers are responsible for all elements of clinical science relating to clinical validation studies that are used to support regulatory submissions. Tasks involve researching disease states, assessing the existing diagnostic methods for possible use as comparators for a clinical study, designing clinical performance studies, writing clinical study protocols, monitoring clinical study data for trends and issues, writing clinical study reports, writing the clinical study summaries included in regulatory submissions (including instructions for use), and proposing and leading presentation of clinical study in peer-reviewed publications.
Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to be involved in developing a standard template that describes existing diagnostic methods, their technology, their analytical specifications, and an assessment of their clinical performance.
This template will be used to support study designs for US and global regulatory submissions. After developing the template, it will be used for an existing pipeline project.
We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:
Able to work full-time over the summer months (May-August)
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship
Majoring in Molecular Biology, Physiology, Microbiology, Virology or Biomedical Sciences preferred
Rising Junior, Rising Senior or Graduate/MBA student
Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0
Strong written communication and concise writing skills
Experience or exposure to working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to work onsite at our San Diego, CA campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided.
The hourly pay range for this role is $22 - $35 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
