Jasper Mountain operates a school at both agency sites, SAFE Center &Jasper Mountain Center. We are a K-8 private school operated by JasperMountain, a private non-profit agency which provides treatment servicesfor traumatized children in residential and day treatment settings.Jasper Mountain School is registered through the Oregon Department ofEducation as a Private alternative school. The school works closely withSpringfield Public Schools and specializes in students with seriousmental health and behavioral issues. Work Site: Jasper Mountain Center -37875 Jasper-Lowell Road Jasper OR 97438- Located 15 miles southeast ofthe Eugene/Springfield area or SAFE Center-89124 Marcola Rd. SpringfieldOR 97478 Hours/Days: As needed (1/2 or Full days) throughout ouryear-round academic calendar. Qualifications: \' A Bachelor\'s degree isrequired. Master\'s degree is preferred. \' Oregon Teaching License orequivalent required. \' Special Education Certification stronglypreferred but not required. \' Experience and/or training in childdevelopment including the implications of child abuse and its effect onthe learning styles and behavior of elementary school-aged children. \'A willingness to take feedback from the school Treatment Team toimplement alternative and innovative instructional strategies forstudents with behavioral needs. Duties: \' Teach smaller sized,multi-age classrooms. \' Provide individual, small group, and classroominstruction guided by teacher sub plans. \' Follow individualizededucational plans (IEPs) for identified students \' Establish andmaintain effective working relationships with staff and students. \'Maintain classroom management and work collaboratively with classroombehavior/treatment staff, creating a therapeutic learning environment.\' Have effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communicationskills. \' Other duties may be assigned. \' Note: Agency practicesinclude use of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) non-violent crisisintervention approach for de-escalation and safety.
