Contract Details: 12 months (4-month right-to-hire)
Pay Rate : $53hr
Seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in electrical/substation estimating for a role primarily focused on substation estimates within the electrical utility sector.
Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate must possess relevant experience in the electrical utility sector, either directly or indirectly involved with electrical utilities. Essential background in the power industry or as a substation servicer in transmission or distribution is critical.
Work Details:
Monday to Friday work schedule with potential for overtime with permission.
10% travel for training, meetings, or site visits.
Candidates MUST RESIDE within company service footprint: Virginia / West Virginia / Ohio / Kentucky / Tennessee / Indiana / Michigan.
Responsibilities: Senior Project Estimator is responsible for performing highly technical estimating evaluations for complex projects and outage activities. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with project estimating and scope control procedures, building master estimating cost models, and mentoring and training the organization on project estimate development. The role involves collaborating with project stakeholders to enhance estimating and scope change management processes.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
Develop conceptual estimates for assigned projects, support planning and engineering groups, and analyze closeout benchmarking data.
Interface with various departments to identify, initiate, and manage estimate efforts.
Establish policies for allocating risk-based contingency, monitor labor market trends, and review designs for cost effectiveness.
Implement project estimating methods, maintain standardized processes, and review estimate basis for completeness.
Provide technical direction and guidance on estimate development, assumptions, and issue resolution.
Plan, instruct, and coordinate training and development of estimating employees.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related field .
Minimum of four (4) years of experience in power generation and/or transmission system estimating .
Experience with estimating software packages required ; experience with Primavera a plus.
Strong knowledge of market pricing trends and construction execution for capital projects.
Strong communication skills.

Exhibit economic and business acumen with an understanding of engineering & design, procurement, contracting, estimating, construction, and startup procedures.

Support project activities organization, delegate tasks, set team requirements, and manage deliverables.
Demonstrate conflict management skills and an understanding of scope management.
Possess a high level of proficiency and advanced knowledge of construction methodologies.
May require extended hours to meet project/outage requirements and schedules.
Maintain a professional working atmosphere.
