Job Description:
As a member of the STAR Office team, the Student Social Media Manager must be able to perform the following tasks:
Collaborate with the STAR Office team to determine content direction and strategy.
Assist in the oversight of social media platforms for the STAR Office as well as promote office programs and events on the website.
Engage promptly with students, families, alumni, corporate representatives, etc., and address their queries on social media platforms.
Stay updated with current social media trends, practices, and technologies.
Coordinate with the STAR Office Director and other team members to create informative and engaging content tailored for UF engineering students, their families, potential corporate sponsors, and K12 audiences.
Expected Salary:
$15.00 per hour
Minimum Requirements:
This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal student for this position would be proficient with tools and software such as Microsoft Office, Google, Qualtrics, WordPress, and Canva.
Proficient in major social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively with the STAR Office teams.
Demonstrated ability to adhere to timelines and manage time efficiently.
Demonstrate engaging customer service and function well in a diverse environment.
Receptive to constructive feedback and adapt to changes or new requests swiftly.
Exceptional multitasking abilities with a focus on prioritizing assignments
Ability to work 10-15 hours weekly.
