The Town of Falmouth IT Department has recently been restructured, andwe are currently recruiting team-oriented IT professionals for threefull-time positions ranging from Tier 1/entry-level to Tier 3-level. TheIT Support Specialist I is a Tier 1/entry-level position withopportunities for professional development and advancement within thedepartment. The IT Support Specialist I works 40 hours per week, Mondaythrough Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with occasional opportunities forovertime to assist with off-hour scheduled maintenance and emergencies.The primary function of the IT Support Specialist I position is toprovide basic (Tier 1) technical support for systems, software, and endusers in all Town departments, with a focus on non-public safetydepartments. This includes triaging, troubleshooting, diagnosing,resolving, and documenting problems for Town employees regardingsoftware, hardware, applications, systems, networking, andinfrastructure and referring more advanced issues to the IT SupportSpecialist II. Other duties include but are not limited to onboardingand offboarding end users, including workstation and Town cell phone setups, and maintaining and installing Information Systems hardware andsoftware. The IT Support Specialist I also provides and demonstratestraining material and resources to Town employees, provides contentchanges for the Town website, and performs other duties in support of ITdepartment goals. This position travels to offsite Town departments toperform these functions as required. The ideal candidate can workindependently but enjoys being part of a team and contributing to thegoals of the IT department. The successful applicant has excellentcustomer service skills and is a patient problem solver with an interestin advancing his/her professional knowledge, skills, and abilities.Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent,associate degree and/or relevant certifications in a related fieldpreferred, and a minimum of one year of relevant experience; or anyequivalent combination of education, training or experience whichdemonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilitiesnecessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Mustpossess a valid driver\'s license and successfully pass a comprehensivebackground check. Preference Date to Apply: Monday, February 5, 2024 by4:30 pm.
