Job Description:
The Coordinator II is responsible for the coordination, administration, awarding, and disbursement of state and institutional scholarships and grants. The State Programs area requires an elevated working knowledge of federal, state, and institutional regulations governing all aspects of the financial aid process. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and organizational skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Scholarship Program Management
Oversee various scholarship programs, including institutional awards, college, and departmental scholarships.
Manage funds, understand awarding rules, certify student eligibility, and communicate with students and stakeholders.
Act as the main contact for scholarship inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Program Collaboration
Collaborate with stakeholders to administer programs like United World College, National Merit, Latin American Caribbean Scholarship, and Americorp.
Evaluate eligibility, manage applications, oversee awarding processes, handle funds, and provide reporting.
State Program Administration
Assist with state program administration, including calculating awards for programs such as Bright Futures.
Manually assess eligibility, update awards, and coordinate with the College of Education for the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers.
Brecht Scholarship Administration
Administer the Brecht Scholarship statewide.
Manage applications, conduct outreach and communication with students and institutions, evaluate eligibility, make awarding decisions using professional judgment, handle funds, and provide reporting.
Additional Responsibilities
Support the Manager in administering other aid programs outside the primary focus.
Travel occasionally for financial aid presentations and professional development workshops.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.
Expected Salary:
$45,000 annually

Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Student financial aid experience preferred as well as Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
