Functions include student counseling, career guidance, residence life, multicultural affairs, support of student activities and organizations, recreation services and intramural athletics administration.

  Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.

  At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.

  Nature of Work:

  The Office of Case Management serves as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students to express concerns regarding students who exhibit symptoms associated with distress and/or risk. The office is responsible for addressing the health and safety of students on campus. The position is directly responsible for collecting and assessing critical information, identifying and supporting student needs, crisis intervention and de-escalation, and referring for campus or community services such as therapists, psychiatrists, and health clinics as appropriate.

  Examples of Work Performed:

  This position provides assessment and support to students who are exhibiting symptoms of distress through a variety of interventions, referrals, and follow-up services.

  Consult and collaborate with academic units, CU Denver Housing & Dining, health care providers, parents, and campus partner on crisis intervention and student mental health resources.

  The Student Case Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and communicating with medical and behavioral health hospitals, as well as staff, parents, families, or designated emergency contacts regarding student health and safety emergencies.

  This position participates in campus wide education and other programming efforts which may include evening or weekend events.

  Salary and Benefits:

  The hiring range (or salary range) for this position has been established at $50,983 - $53,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

  The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

  The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

  This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Qualifications:

  A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, health sciences, higher education, counseling, human services, student affairs, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  1 + years of relevant professional experience, including work within a mental health setting, higher education, or other related field.

  Professional experience with managing mental health related crises.

  Conditions of Employment:

  This position is funded for three (3) Years. Continued employment for this position after 3 years will be dependent upon securement of future funding.Preferred Qualifications:

  Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Student Development, Higher Education, or related field.

  Case management experience.

  Training/certification in any of the following: NaBITA threat assessment tool, WAVR21, SIVRA-35 or experience utilizing risk rubrics to classify threats.

  Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  Outstanding customer service skills.

  Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

  Demonstrated understanding of student development.

  Crisis Management and mental health training.
