The UAA Office of the Bursar is seeking a Student Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity to obtain professional customer service and general office experience while attending classes. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Customer service skills with the ability to successfully assist customers in person, over the phone, and via email. Professional telephone etiquette, verbal and written communication skills with good grammar and spelling.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Word & Excel, email and other web applications, database preferred.
Ability to multitask and complete projects by their given deadline.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as a member of a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
General office experience
Customer service experience preferred
Cash handling experience preferred
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
None
This is an in-person position located on the Anchorage campus. Remote work is unavailable for this position.
Applicant must be enrolled as a UA student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student. This student staff position is 20 hours/week during the academic year with opportunities for up to 40 hours/week during the summer and starts at $11.34/hour. Candidates must be available to work between the hours of Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
