Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Assistant for the Child Health Institute at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.The Director's Office is currently seeking to hire a part-time student assistant to support CHI's digital marketing efforts by creating and developing content for our website and social media channels. The student assistant will work under the direction of the CHI Director, and will work closely with department faculty, administrative staff and the RWJMS public relations team to create, develop and manage content for our newly established Institute website and related social media sites. The candidate will develop content; maintain and update the website; aid in digital media campaigns via Constant Contact; manage social medial channels (twitter, LinkedIn, etc.); and develop relevant content to improve CHI's online presence to engage prospective donors; recruit prospective research candidates; and solicit scientific membership and collaborations.Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Support CHI digital marketing efforts by creating and developing content for our website and social media channels.
  • Help establish CHI's online presence and work to improve our brand presence/recognition.
  • Maintain and manage the website and social media accounts.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with our Public Relations team.
  • Suggest and implement direct marketing methods.
  • Create digital content (photos, video, website, website content, etc.) and manage scheduling of posts.
  • Develop and facilitate marketing campaigns and disseminate information to our email list via Constant Contact.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System.   Qualifications

  

Minimum Education and Experience
  • College students (must have at least one semester college-level courses).
  • Must have marketing, social media, public relations, and/or events experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have excellent knowledge and skills with photo and media editing software including experience with social media applications.
  • Must understand digital advertising metrics and have experience with web analytic tools.
  • Must be current with latest digital media trends and design technology.
  • Knowledge of web design, and content management systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Rutgers Core Component Library (RCCL), helpful.
  • Must have experience in writing content for search engine optimization.
  • Ability to write at a professional level.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal/written); and the ability to understand and communicate in English to sufficiently perform the job duties.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-driven, creative, and interactive.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
