JOB DESCRIPTION* Job responsibilities include performing strength, fatigue and fractureanalysis for propulsion and structural components, including non-linearanalysis for the Major Development Structural Analysis Team.* Candidate will be required to create analysis models, perform handcalculations and have an understanding of analysis best practices to providestrength inputs and recommendations for new designs and installations.* Candidate will be required to review and approve 3-D engineering layouts,3-D models, designs / drawings and 2-D drawing changes for a variety ofpropulsion, fluid system, and mechanical system components.* Candidate will make engineering design recommendations with consideration ofthermal, mechanical and pressure loading using appropriate materialproperties, configurations, safety factors, etc.* Analysis results will be documented in strength reports.* Candidate will support internal peer reviews, tabletop reviews and formaldesign reviews as needed.* Will also need to support fast paced design/analysis cycles and be able toevaluate hardware non-conformances to support production activities.* The engineer must be able to work independently and coordinate their effortsacross their functional and product teams.
PREFERRED SKILLS:* NASGRO fracture mechanic's tool* Matlab is a need an important experience needed for this request.* Unix/Linux mainframe-based analysis tools* MathCad* ABAQUS* MS office (word, excel, ppt)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:* Candidate must have a minimum of 5-9 years of structural engineeringexperience.* MS office (word, excel, ppt).* NASTRAN & FEMAP pre/post processor - BOTH REQUIRED OR IMMEDIATE REJECT.- Must be hands-on in work experience AND within the last 5 years to bequalified for this role.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:* Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or very closely relatedEngineering field.
