We're looking for an intelligent,collaborative person committed to growing their career in structuralengineering by learning from the expertise of others and contributing toactive project work from design through construction.The Job:In this position, you will provide structural engineering solutions tocomplex and challenging problems that touch every aspect of our communitiesand lives. You'll work under the direction of licensed professional andstructural engineers on projects that provide safe building environments,deliver clean drinking water to our communities, provide critical buildingsand facilities to industry and all levels of government, improve theinfrastructure of our national parks for generations to come, and more.You will work in integrated, multi-discipline design teams comprised ofstructural, electrical, mechanical, civil, environmental, andfire/life safety engineers; architects; and professionals and scientistsfrom many other diverse disciplines from the inception of projects through thecompletion of construction. Our work is gratifying and rewarding and makes adifference in the communities that we serve.We will rely on you to:Perform structural design and analysis of building and civil structures forvarious project types, construction materials, and methods.Prepare specifications and contribute to the production of drawings forconstruction documents.Be proficient using Revit to model the building elements you design.Periodically serve projects during construction by visiting construction sitesto inspect work, review contractor submittals to ensure they meet designintent, and address construction changes.Participate in conditional assessments of existing structures on occasion.Contribute to writing technical memos and reports on occasion.Participate in multi-discipline team meetings, design charettes, clientreview workshops, and construction meetings.QualificationsOur Ideal Candidate:Our ideal candidate will be a collaborative person and a good communicator,possess technical curiosity and a strong work ethic, take responsibility fortheir work, and be eager to learn from the expertise of others. Thefollowing qualifications are desired for this position:Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringEIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT willhave the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EITfor career progressionMicrosoft Office, AutoCAD, or similar analytical softwarePrevious structural design experience (internship or full-time workexperience) is a plusAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of ouremployee-owned culture is a mustPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree (ABET accredited) with emphasis in Structural Engin ering.Recent graduates should have a minimum overall GPA of 3.25 and a minimumengineering GPA of 3.25.A team-oriented mindset that seeks to collaborate with and learn from theexpertise of those around you.Coursework or experience that includes concrete, steel, and masonry designusing IBC and ASCE codes and referenced standards.Experience with structural analysis, finite element, and Revit and AutoCADsoftware.Strong writing skills and ability to speak fluently in meetings and groups.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, resulting in technically soundsolutions in an organized and timely manner.While this is primarily an office-based role, previous experience inconstruction environments is considered beneficial.
