This Position is for a Street Sweeper Helper with a cleaning service location in Ridgeland. Shifts start at 8 PM and last until 4 - 7 AM depending on the route. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays except Christmas.
Summary: Each truck consists of a two man team, driver and helper, that clean parking lots in the greater Jackson area. The Helper gets out at EVERY lot on the route with a backpack blower to blow trash and debris from the sidewalks and curbs into the path of the sweeper truck. The Helper will also use a hand-picker and bucket to remove trash from landscapes and pick up large items that the truck cannot sweep up. Some lots require trash cans to be emptied as well.
THIS JOB IS OUTDOORS IN ANY WEATHER CONDITION. APPLICANT IS EXPECTED TO WORK IN SUMMER WEATHER, WINTER WEATHER, RAIN, AND SNOW. APPLICANT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DRESSING APPROPRIATELY FOR WEATHER CONDITIONS.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a mature individual who is able to commit to the schedule as structured and MUST have the following: At least 2 years of verifiable work experience in maintenance, landscape, or relatable field, 10 years of verifiable work history in any field, a valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and have a working cell phone.
Applicant will be a part of a team and will not ride with the same driver every shift, so good communication skills and ability to work well with others is an absolute must. Applicant must also be able to pass background/drug screening tests, and US Citizenship and Immigration Services E-Verity check to confirm eligibility to work in the US.
Physical Demands: Must have excellent physical mobility as the applicant will be getting in and out of the truck many times each night to perform duties listed above. Must also have full range of motion in upper and lower body, be able to reach overhead, be able to work in various positions including but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time. Must also be able to lift, pull, and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN ANY WEATHER.
