Position Summary:
Project Manager is responsible for defining, planning, communicating and implementing assigned project(s). This involves creating a plan that is used to monitor and control project progress and forming the basis of communication with senior management about the projects continued status.
The Manager oversees projects assuring the following objectives are met:
• Safe, reliable, efficient, cost competitive products are introduced that meet or exceed customer requirements.
• Product design is capable of being economically manufactured and sold profitably in a competitive global marketplace.
• Completion of the development projects on time within budgetary constraints.
• Integration of technology in product and development processes
• Seamless transition of design to manufacturing.
Responsibility to control the business unit strategy including AOP/LRP, product roadmap, channel management and strategic projects.
Role & Responsibility
Product cost, time, quality:
• Ensure that the initiatives for new and current products are executed in line with expectation in terms of Scope, Cost (product and project as validated by finance), Time and Quality (Gate 0 to 5)
• Ensure that after SOP the product cost keeps the promises made and the right tools are in place to keep improving cost, delivery and quality as validated by finance.
KPI:
• Cost: NPO (Business case), product and project cost
• Time: expected Start of Production and gates achievement
• Quality (TQP): Active participation of all the functions and commitment from each function to improve their current KPI/Cost of poor quality
Process management:
• Manage and administrate the disciplined use of the NPD phase / gate process and associated functional / quality tools. Identify NPD and functional tool training requirements.
• Perform responsibilities common to all managerial/supervisory positions (e.g. communicate, train, develop, motivate, empower, and support top management) for optimum utilization of company’s human capital.
• Work on continuous process improvements reflecting business and organization dynamics
KPI:
• Project planning
• ISO audit incorporation
Communication:
• Communicate project status, issues and actions as necessary. Chair and document team meetings and decisions. Ensure maintenance of project documentation. Present project status to top management
KPI:
• Gate reviews, project meetings, meeting minutes and IAROD
Risk management:
• Identify risks and develop actions plans to minimize / mitigate risks. Provide project contingency plans
KPI:
• Risk assessment, contingency plan
Organization Strategy:
• Working with other members of the business brings forward strategic improvements.
• Works with the general manager to define the business unit strategy map and maintain monthly updates
KPI:
• AOP/LRP growth
• Business improvement roadmap
Job Requirement
Education Required: Master degree, MBA – In relevant field
Certificate (license):
• PMI-PMP certified advantageous
• Driving licence
Travel Required:<15%Experience Description:
Minimum of 5 to 10 years in project management role or similar strategic roles (internally or externally)Knowledge & Skill:
