About Step Down RN

  Overview

  As our Step-down nurse, you provide patient care in transitional units where patients are too sick for the med-surg floor but not sick enough for intensive care. The Stepdown Unit at St. Vincent North is a 9 bed unit providing care of medical, surgical, cardiac and complex Neurosurgical patients with a variety of surgical conditions

  The unit offers a variety of advanced neurological monitoring techniques and innovative interventions that allow for the best possible outcome for the patients.

  To be successful in this role, you must emphasize critical thinking, communication and efficiency.

  CHI St. Vincent North is a 69 bed non-profit facility providing quality health care to patients and communities in and around Sherwood, Arkansas. We are part of CommonSpirit Health which operates 139 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across 21 states, making our services accessible to nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

  Responsibilities

  Checking patients' health status daily and making note of any changes or concerns

  Caring for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition

  Monitoring patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes and ventilators

  Providing a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate

  We are offering a $15,000 sign on bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

  Qualifications

  Diploma in Nursing from an accredited program college, or university

  1 year of experience in acute care

  Active Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Arkansas Board of Nursing or compact state

  Basic Life Support (BLS)

  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Within 6 months of hire)

  Pay Range

  $31.03 - $41.89 /hour
