Assists Nurse Manager with ensuring that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients and his/her nursing units in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital,
Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education,
Provides input into evaluation of staff performance in accordance with organization policies,
Participates in nursing Quality Improvement,
Assists with unit administration, including scheduling, payroll and maintenance of supplies and equipment,
Maintains and role models clinical skills necessary to provide care to patients,
Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care,
Insure that Behavioral Health Units are in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Jersey,
Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred,
Successful completion of all Orientation Programs,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills,
Demonstrated clinical expertise in area standards,
Meets requirements as defined by applicable Department Specific Equipment Competency Checklist,
All patient related hospital departments, patients, families, visitors, nursing personnel and medical staff,

Effectively manages the day to day operations of the unit
Assesses the physical environment of the unit for cleanliness and safety hazards, and responds appropriately to effect a safe, therapeutic environment for patients, personnel and the public; evaluates equipment and supplies, and monitors for quality and effectiveness,
