The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining all mechanical and electrical systems for 4 innovative research laboratory buildings as part of a research facility.  Working as part of a maintenance team, the job also includes ensuring the timely and accurate resolution of any facility electrical maintenance concerns, in conjunction with the Company's policies and procedures. Duties generally include but are not limited to:Preventive maintenance & trouble-shootingIncorporating compliant safety practices and measures into workplace operationsCommissioning new equipmentValidation and calibration of building systems and other equipmentMonitoring life safety systems and utilitiesMaintaining operations and documentation in compliance with all corporate standards and local, state and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests and associates.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain mechanical and electrical systems and equipment to include chillers, HVAC equipment, Boilers, Water purifying systems, Wifi system, heat exchangers and Humidification systems.Clean and prepare equipment for inspection; make periodic inspection of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems as established by the facility operational procedures; repair or replace broken or worn machinery parts.Respond to emergency situations 24/7 as directed to trace, troubleshoot and make repairs.Implement electrical maintenance activities to ensure highest quality workmanship and productionEstablish schedule for, and perform electrical preventive maintenance activitiesTroubleshoot problems that arise in and around the facility and record completed and ongoing tasksEnsure maintenance of records of all maintenance/repairs performed as required by corporate policy and/or legal mandateConduct periodic appropriate mechanical/electrical safety inspections of mechanical/electrical rooms and distribution areas.

  Education and Experience required: include the following.

  High School Diploma or equivalent required.5+ years of facility-related work experience, including customer service, installing, maintaining, and repairing of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, & electrical maintenance experience in a similar facility required.Experience with Siemens building automation system (BAS) controls and programming.Knowledge of CMMS systems requiredMust be able to read and work with blueprints and schematic diagrams.Strong knowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practice (NFPA 70E)Strong Knowledge of OSHA regulation and applicable National, State and Local Building codesUnderstands aspects of construction planning and execution.Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.Valid Driver's license
