  DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a State Park Intern, you will gain experience in park operations, resource management, administration and environmental education. You will assist in the planning, preparation, and completion of park improvement projects through research, data collection, and collaboration to execute and report the completion of the project. In addition, you will also assist in a variety of administrative duties such as filing, data entry, drafting documents, and assisting park visitors. You will assist in servicing park trails, grounds keeping, removing invasive plant species, and work with the Environmental Education Specialist in presenting educational and recreational programs for the public.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time internship lasting from 5/01/2024 through 8/30/2024.Student may work nights and weekends, not to exceed 37.5 hours a week.Typical hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.   QUALIFICATIONSInternship Requirements:Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors:Park and Resource/Recreation ManagementEnvironmental SciencesBiologyAn approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable.Freshman year completedGood academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university

  Additional Requirements:This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.You must be able to perform essential job functions.
