Description

　　Summary:

　　The State Government Relations Manager executes the corporate legislative coverage strategy and advocacy efforts for Huntington at the state and local levels. The leader will research, monitor, and develop legislative policy positions in partnership with the Government Relations Director, senior leadership, business lines, and regional management teams across Huntington.

　　A successful leader will build and maintain relationships with targeted elected leadership throughout assigned states at the state and local levels (executive and legislative) and will serve as the primary corporate contact with elected officials regarding advocacy efforts.

　　This role reports to the Government Relations Director in our center of excellence focused on Public Affairs.

　　Duties and Responsibilities:

　　Advises and partners with the Government Relations Director to execute corporate legislative coverage strategy across the Huntington footprint at the state and local levels and all advocacy efforts.

　　Researches and develops legislative policy positions in partnership with Government Relations Director, senior leadership, business segment and regional management teams across Huntington.

　　Builds and maintains relationships with targeted elected leadership throughout assigned states at the state and local levels (executive and legislative); serves as primary corporate contact with elected officials regarding advocacy efforts.

　　Advises and briefs senior leadership team on key relationships and issues in assigned states.

　　Oversees Huntington’s relationships with consultants in assigned states and directs related advocacy efforts.

　　Manages relationships and serves as the primary contact with industry and business trade associations/coalitions within assigned states.

　　Supports the development of industry policy positions and advocacy strategy within industry and business trade associations/coalitions.

　　Actively identifies business development opportunities in assigned states, and in accordance with applicable laws or regulations, coordinates with or makes referral to appropriate business segment owner.

　　Directs and execute all lobbying compliance procedures and reporting for assigned states.

　　Supports HBI-PAC leadership with development and distribution of HBI-PAC materials, reporting, and assists with the coordination of PAC Board meetings.

　　Develops in partnership with the public affairs team, up to date and relevant content to inform business leaders, and colleagues on public policy and public affairs operating context impacting financial institutions.

　　Performs other duties as assigned.

　　Required Qualifications:

　　Bachelor's degree in business, political science, or related field.

　　8+ years of relevant experience.

　　Ability to independently manage multiple work efforts in a fast-paced environment.

　　Excellent organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple projects and flexible at adjusting assigned priorities when needed.

　　Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

　　Banking and/or Financial Services experience preferred

　　Corporate experience preferred
