  Staff Engineer - Repair Development role is focused on leading repair introduction projects, expertise in repair processes and their impact to component form, fit and function on specified module/hardware. This person will develop the technical approach for the repair method, repair

  equipment, engine impacts, and alternatives through effective communication with global engineering resources within predefined schedule. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.   ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of repair and inspection technologies, process qualification,

  industrialization. Manage related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.

  • Collaborates with globally and functionally diverse stakeholders to achieve product excellence.

  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Strategically drives continuous improvement in standard work and engineering processes strategy to ensure vitality and to reduce cost, time, and error frequency.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

  • Applies lean principles to improve process efficiency by continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrates the culture of psychological safety where all voices are heard, respected, and encouraged across the pyramid advocating for diversity, inclusion, equality and removal of unconscious bias.

  QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • At least 8 additional years of experience in an engineering position

  DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Experience applying Lean concepts and structured problem solving
