　　Robert Half is seeking an ambitious, experienced Staff Accountant for a permanent position within a prestigious Oil & Gas - Pipeline company in Houston, TX. Excellent Benefits & Hybrid Schedule!! In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, various aspects of internal reporting will be under your responsibility. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Houston, Texas area, at a company where effort is rewarded.

　　Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

　　• Perform monthly account reconciliations, analyze general ledger accounts, and create journal entries for the monthly close process. Develop strategies to resolve outstanding reconciling items with compliant documentation.

　　• Lead monthly reporting and accounting close tasks, communicating results to management and other departments.

　　• Support the monthly close process by generating journal entries, conducting analytics, and coordinating team tasks to meet timelines.

　　• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, GAAP, IFRS, FERC, and other regulatory standards.

　　• Identify and optimize processes, leveraging technology for automation. Take ownership of special projects to improve processes and systems.

　　• Provide leadership, mentorship, and potentially supervise. Assist in monthly analyses and collaborate on cross-functional projects.

　　• Prepare supporting schedules for audits, assist with budget preparation, and integrate purchase acquisitions into company records.

　　Staff Accountant Requirements:

　　Bachelors Degree in Accounting

　　2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Knowledgeable of ERP systems

　　Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

　　Self-starter and strong ethical standards
