Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Chantilly, Virginia. The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on completing a year-end close project for the 2023 fiscal year. This will involve tasks such as invoicing, journal entries, reconciliations, and year-end close procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Execute invoicing tasks with a high level of accuracy
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all financial records are up to date
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and financial ledgers
• Participate in the month-end close process, preparing necessary documentation and reports
• Assist in the year-end close process, ensuring all financial records are accurate and complete
• Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to manage and track all transactions
• Perform General Ledger tasks, including maintaining and updating financial records
• Apply skills in Bank Reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for and properly documented
• Leverage knowledge of Journal Entries to record all business transactions accurately
• Participate in Month End Close and Year-end Close processes, ensuring all financial data is accurate and up to date. Requirements • Possess a minimum of three years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required.
• Proficient in managing the General Ledger.
• Skilled in creating and managing Journal Entries.
• Experience in handling Month End Close activities.
• Proficient in managing Year-end Close activities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
• Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
• Adherence to ethical standards and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
