  THE POSITION

  DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  In this position, you will provide professional analysis, control and guidance in government financial and budgetary accounting and reporting; therefore, ensuring ongoing governmental transparency, legal and fiscal accountability, and appropriate use of Commonwealth resources.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment.

  Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.

  Alternate work schedule (AWS) is available after completing a probationary period.

  Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

  Salary: All new hires to the Commonwealth will start at the minimum salary.

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  One year as an Accountant 2;or

  Three years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

  Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
