Description

We are seeking a Bilingual (Spanish) Staff Accountant for our growing client located in Mineola, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity where you will be responsible for various accounting tasks in a bustling environment. You will play a key role in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. This includes bank reconciliations, maintaining MS Excel spreadsheets, and managing in-house systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular ledger maintenance

• Assist in the preparation of necessary documents for financial audits

• Review and prepare financial statements and reports

• Conduct detailed account analysis and reconcile sales invoices, payment receipts, and journal vouchers

• Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger accounts

• Manage bank reconciliations ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met

• Maintain and manage the processing of financial transactions

• Assist with the preparation of budget forecasts

• Utilize MS Excel to organize financial data and create financial reports

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant legal regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required

• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role

• Proficient in MS Excel, including the use of formulas and functions

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Experience with accounting software is preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
