Robert Half is partnering with a leading financial services and mortgage company dedicated to providing top-notch lending solutions. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in supporting SEC reporting and contributing to the month-end close process.
As an Accounting Associate focusing on SEC Reporting and Month-End Close, you will work closely with the finance and accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities:
SEC Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and filing of quarterly and annual reports (10-Q, 10-K) with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary financial information and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Month-End Close:
Contribute to the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Financial Analysis:
Support financial analysis by preparing variance analysis and trend reports to identify areas for improvement or potential issues.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Help maintain and strengthen internal controls related to financial reporting.
Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and external auditors, to facilitate effective communication and coordination of financial activities
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2+ years of experience in public accounting or with exposure to SEC reporting at a public company
Strong understanding of GAAP and SEC regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
