Description An up-and-coming firm in the Service industry has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will have responsibility over the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close will be your reponsibility. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Kalamazoo, Michigan based company is offering a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity that is multi-faceted and challenging in nature. 　　Key responsibilities

　　Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

　　Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

　　Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

　　Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

　　Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

　　Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

　　Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

　　Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

　　Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

　　Financial reporting experience required

　　Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

　　Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)

　　Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

　　Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

　　Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

　　Current and relevant ERP system experience

　　Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

　　Recent and relevant accounting experience
