Description Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing Hi Tech Engineering organization in the short-term contract / contract role of Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Chatsworth, California region.

　　Responsibilities

　　Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

　　Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

　　Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

　　Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

　　Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Maintain monthly payment schedules

　　Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

　　Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

　　Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

　　Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

　　Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

　　1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

　　Current and relevant ERP system experience

　　Accounts Payable (AP) experience

　　Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

　　Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
